Bees are normally found buzzing around flowering plants and trees. They are usually black and yellow with a fuzzy appearance. Although they are beneficial, they do pose a danger. They are social insects and live in colonies. During the spring, bees will swarm and look for a location to establish a hive. A bee swarm looks like a thick ball or layer of bees. They are protecting and covering the queen while the scout bees find a suitable location.
Once a location is found, they swarm to it and begin to establish a colony or hive. Hives that are near human activity can be a potential problem. Very common locations are wall voids, eave overhangs, void in trees, and voids in block walls.
Do not attempt to eradicate swarming bees, unless you have the complete range of protective equipment and the professional knowledge essential to the circumstances. Whenever possible, we remove the bees and relocate them.
